OKINAWA LIFE

So it’s been almost 6 months since we moved to Okinawa from Tokyo.
This was one of the biggest decisions I made in my entire life.
My hubby and I got married in LA in 2018.
We bought a home (condo) together in Tokyo in 2019.
Honeymooned in Bali, travelled to England, had 1 year anniversary with our friends in Tokyo.
Then COVID.
We lived there for about 5 years. It was a fantastic place too. We loved living there. We didn’t plan on letting it go until my asthma got worse. The cold dry (and polluted) air in Tokyo worsened my conditions every year and had to find a warmer, more humid climate.
We planned to move to Guam first. But visas aside, we realized we couldn’t afford to live there. Health insurance was too expensive and there aren’t that many jobs available.
So our only option was Okinawa. But as it turns out Okinawa was my husband’s dream. So it was no brainer.
And you know something? My asthma is better. I can breathe better.
All we need is our permanent home. We had lots of help from our friends on the island and we’re so grateful.
The life would’ve been pretty lonely without friends. Don’t you think?
